Hey Chickabownow, I couldn't figure out how to post a comment on your most recent post, so I'm going to post it here instead and hope you read it...

Your possible topics are fairly broad, but could turn into excellent ideas! Chemistry in food products is a good idea. If you wanted to narrow that topic, you could focus on the chemistry of what makes certain foods go stale while others remain fresh for months or even years. Or you could possibly research differences in organic and non-organic products once they reach the supermarket and your home. I once read that even though organic products, grown in say California, help the environment, the fuel used to ship them to a Trader Joe's in Delaware affects the environment much more than growing local non-organic food does.

Chemistry in medicines might turn out to be boring. Although it could be interesting to research ancient potions :) and remedies and see how (in)effective these actually cures were.

If you were to do, "the use of chemistry in everyday things," it might be interesting to research (I think this is chemistry related) plasma, flat-screen, and normal TVs and see why each type has a different quality picture (and price).

Peace, Rick

Hey James,
I like your idea about how things have become better with newer chem innovations. I'd like to know more :)
